The Hematology-Oncology 研究员hip at Guthrie is a three-year post-graduate program designed to provide the necessary teaching and skills in all areas of Hematology and Oncology. Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital is a tertiary medical center located in North 宾西法尼亚, near the state board of 纽约, and serves an area spanning a 100-mile radius, between the Endless Mountains area of 宾西法尼亚, and the Finger Lakes region of central 纽约 state. The large extent and the predominantly rural nature of the community allows our fellows to be exposed to a diverse mix and complexity of cases. The Guthrie health system includes satellite locations at the Corning Hospital and Cortland Medical Center, which provide Hematology-Oncology specialty clinics. 研究员 will have a comprehensive clinical experience by participating in both inpatient consultations at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital and outpatient care at Guthrie Clinic sites.
Our fellows will receive a personalized mentorship with experienced faculty physicians and availability of state-of-the-art medical technologies. They will have scheduled didactic sessions cov艾琳g the entire field of Hematology-Oncology and will be able to participate in five different Tumor Boards (Pulmonary, 乳房, Gastrointestinal/Rectal, 泌尿道, and General Tumor Boards). In these multidisciplinary conferences, fellows will learn an in-depth approach to patient care from the expertise of Surgical Oncology, 病理, Radiation Oncology, 医学肿瘤学, and various other specialists. 此外, fellows will have elective rotations in Blood Bank/Coagulation, Hematopathology, Bone Marrow Transplant/Cellular Therapy (at the Penn 状态 Hershey Cancer Institute), Chemotherapy Administration/Pharmacy, and Palliative Care.
Clinical 研究 is available because our Clinical Trial Office offers a portfolio of many different clinical trials to our patients. In view of all that, I am convinced that after three years of dedicated training, our fellows will acquire all the necessary knowledge and skills to become excellent Hematology-Oncology specialists.
